"A column of sunlight illuminates a diver in the diamond-clear waters of Blue Hole in North Florida’s Ichetucknee Springs State Park. Conservationists worry that Ichetucknee, one of the crown jewels of Florida's parks system, could become polluted by runoff far from the park's center." Buy a print of this photo
Simply put, this is an underwater breath training exercise for free diving. The weight, in this case, is an 80lb limestone rock. The persons feet are firmly on the ground, the weight counteracts your body's natural buoyancy underwater. This allows the person to train holding in more of their air for longer while on the bottom. The amount of energy it takes to run with the rock combined with the breath hold makes for a great workout. For obvious reasons it is important to only attempt this with a partner and to never try alone.

The " Swim EP" is accompanied with a video music directed by Sonia Sieff, reminds one of Radiohead, one of the album's major influences.Written in Paris and Los Angeles, Seven is an album whose enveloping, melancholic tone and wide-open soundscapes are supposed to help make your mind wander: Swim is a taste of this adventure.

“When this project began, I was excited to explore the legacy of soul music behind the WAKE UP! album,” explains J.Period, “but I had no idea of the level of access and creative freedom I would be granted by John Legend & The Roots to tell that story. The result is not only something that traces musical history lines from artists like Marvin Gaye to contemporaries like John Legend—but something that adds to that history: brand new collaborative tracks as if Marvin & John recorded together. It’s simply unprecedented on a mixtape. And I am particularly proud of the fact that all of it speaks to the true power of music to carry a message, and have a positive impact on society, and on people’s lives.”
“These songs [are] so relevant now,” says John Legend. “On most of them, you wouldn’t change a lyric [from the original version.] The passionate election [in 2008] represented change and hope, and awakened a new generation of activists who had never been inspired before. [Fast forward to today:] the intense brew of possibility [and] poverty, optimism and despair, activism and unrest, global connectedness and intractable global conflicts is the reason WAKE UP! exists."
